I returned to ‘Secret Port’ for another year and I have to say the zucchini fried balls were the most surprising and best thing ever. I went around the time they opened (6:30ish) and was alone for about 10 minutes so was served promptly by the really lovely staff. At 30 EUR it’s more expensive than on the mainland for an equivalent meal but I didn’t mind as I took home some leftovers as the portions were very generous. Paid by card.

Absolutely brilliant!! This is our BEST meal in Hydra and Athens (among all the restaurants which our local friend brought us to). We were a big group so got to try quite a lot of different items and everything was delicious - homey, authentic and pure deliciousness. Highlights were the lamb stew, the fries (yes the fries - if you don’t mind soft fries), zucchini fritters and house white wine. Service was very prompt, friendly and food came quickly. The atmosphere / ambience is so cute and intimate. Portions are generous and price is really good for this amazing quality on Hydra. I can eat here all day everyday if given the chance! Really loved it

We stayed in Hydra for a week and this was by far the best meal we had. Everything was fresh and tasty and the atmosphere was lovely in the backyard. Go here for an authentic experience and great food but remember to make a reservation because this place is popular, also amongst the local.

Lovely local taverna with lots of personality. If you’re looking for a true local taverna, this is your place. They catch fresh fish daily, so we opted for that. Make sure to ask how much the fish weights; we were surprised when we saw on the bill that our fish was 1.5 kilo (100 eur). The fish was well prepared on a grill. Doesn’t come with any sides but you can combine it with some greens or a salad. The service is very local, like a typical taverna, which means sometimes you have to wait a bit for a waiter or a bill :) Definitely recommend this place!

Tip: cash preferred. Delicious, authentic Greek food in a relaxed and traditional setting. The food is amazing. Full of flavour and tastes like traditional, family oriented dishes handed down through the generations. The service is quick and friendly. A must stop for couples, friends and family.
